A church who prays together
Prayer Meetings
Join us fortnightly on Wednesdays
We believe deeply in the power and importance of praying together as a church. Throughout scripture, prayer is primarily and predominantly not an individualistic moment, but one that is done in community.
Prayer throughout the Bible
We know that the church prayed together for Peter while he was in prison (Acts 12:5).
Paul asked Roman believers to ‘strive together in prayer’ for him (Romans 15:30).
It is written that Jesus taught the disciples to pray ‘Our Father’ (Matthew 6:9).
We we read ‘you’ in many prayer passages, they are plural, not singular, for example the ‘armour of God’ passage in Ephesians 6.
When Daniel was faced with the pressure of needing to discern and interpret King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2:17 it says,
“Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananaiah, Mishael and Azariah. he urged them to plead for mercy…”
They prayed together… this is why we gather every fortnight for one hour as a church to pray!
